About Jonathan Scott

Transforming AI from meaningless buzzwords to Digital Coworkers & Thinking Partners

I'm Jonathan Scott, founder of Visual Intelligence Co. I teach small business owners and solo professionals to put AI to work on the jobs they already do, using the tools I use every day.

My story

From running operations to teaching AI.

I spent more than ten years in supply chain and operations, most recently managing inventory across North America. That work taught me to judge a tool by whether it holds up week after week, not by how good the demo looks.

When generative AI arrived, I started using it on my own work for planning, research, writing and analysis. Then I trained for it properly. I earned Google AI Essentials in 2025 and the Google AI Professional Certificate in 2026, which took seven courses and a portfolio of more than 20 AI projects, including a custom AI app I built myself.

I started Visual Intelligence Co. for people who are curious about AI but don't have time to sort the useful parts from the hype. I give the teaching away free, and I build tools for the jobs that need one.

AI skills

What I do with AI, and where you can see it.

Everything below is on this site, free to read or try.

Prompts that work the first time

I teach a four-part brief that works in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and how to let the AI interview you before it starts.

See How to Brief AI

Prompts turned into workflows

I write AI tasks down as repeatable workflows, with a human check before anything gets used.

See Prompt to Process

Personal AI agents

I set up AI agents in Claude Code, the Claude app and ChatGPT using plain instruction files, skills and memory.

Small apps built with AI

I use AI to plan and build small, private browser tools for one job each. Building a custom AI app was part of my Google certificate.

Assistants with guardrails

I'm piloting a read-only assistant that reads approved Gmail messages and sends a short action brief to Telegram. It can't send, delete or archive anything.

Research, writing and analysis

The everyday work: research with sources, first drafts, content, and making sense of a spreadsheet. Each has its own course in my certificate.

How I work

Four rules for everything I make.

The teaching is free.

Every guide on this site is free. You should be able to learn what AI can do for you before anyone asks you to pay.

Tested before it ships.

I try every guide on real work before I publish it, and the guides list their sources and the date I checked them.

Paid tools do one job.

When I sell something, it's a finished tool with a clear purpose, like the Baseline Solvency cash flow dashboard.

Assistants stay narrow.

A workflow assistant gets the least access it needs, and a person reviews what it produces.
